I think I'm officially over Twilight.

*crickets chirp*

DON'T KILL ME.

I don't know. I mean, all obsessions have to wane eventually, right? I can't love Twilight forever. In fact, I'm getting kind of sick of it. And that's not because of the story or the characters or Stephenie Meyer. Truly, I think the story is a lovely one. But after being in AP English classes and analyzing classic, GOOD, literature, I certainly have matured in my tastes. It was a great tale to read for the sake of immersing myself in a cool little world, but it wasn't really original or clever or mind-bending or intense or thought-provoking. I think I basically fell in love with it because I was immature and a sparkly, chivalrous vampire made my silly little heart go SQUEE. That's about it.
The real reason I've grown tired of it, however, is not because it's a shallow story. I mean, hell, shallow stories are totally fun to read. No, it's because of all the people who are acting like this shallow story is the GREATEST THING SINCE HULA HOOPS. Honestly, I kind of want to tell everyone to grow up a bit, as bitter and mean as that sounds. At the PCA's, Taylor Lautner stole an award for "favorite breakout movie actor" from those like Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, and Sam Worthington - people who deserved it. He only won it because millions of fangirls were like "ZOMG ABS~!" I was disappointed. The PCA's are nothing special, I know this, but, come on people. Just because Lautner plays a werewolf that you're all fawning over doesn't mean he's an impressive actor. He really isn't. There's walking across the screen like you're hot shit, and then there's successfully portraying the modern, yet still charming reinventions of two of the most famous characters on TV. I'll take the modern and charming ones, thanks. Here, howsabout I make a stupid analogy for what I'm trying to get across: Just because I'm obsessed with chocolate, doesn't mean I'll always choose that over something that is healthy and good for my body. If you didn't already guess, Twilight is the chocolate. It doesn't rule above everything. It's sweet, sure, but when you shake that haze from your mind and take the time to inspect it, what's so great about it? It doesn't do anything for you, other than rot your teeth and give you an ugly sugar high. ;P
The Twilight Saga is nothing more than a collection of momentarily satsifying reads. I've realized that now. They are fun, they are hopeful, they make one smile. But once that wears off, what do you have left? Frankly, nothing. I can ask you what is truly so grand about Twilight that makes it the best thing in the world. You can answer with things like "it's just such a wonderful, romantic story!" and "it gives people something smile about!" and "we get to read about a boy we all wish we had!" Sure, okay. I get it. I had those very same answers. But what's the use of clinging on to those answers as if they mean life or death? Maybe I'm exaggerating a bit...but when I think about it again, I'm really not. People are OBSESSED. And I don't get it anymore. I don't get why there are so many people that can't look past it anymore. It's just a silly story! x)
Robert Pattinson isn't a mind-blowing actor. Kristen Stewart isn't a mind-blowing actress. Taylor Lautner's abs may resemble the Grand Canyon, but he's just a kid. Edward Cullen may be a gentlemen, but he also creeps around Bella's room and watches her sleep while he imagines the things that he can do to her, both romantic and, well, OMNOMNOM. Bella may have the strength to put mystical creatures before her own wellfare, but she is just a hormonal teenager who lives in her own bitter fantasy world. These people, these characters, have no real depth to them, and while we can fleetingly love them and relate to them, they aren't memborable for their characters. They're memorable for the fact that they sparkle, stop speeding vans with their bare hands, and say sarcastic things to douches like Mike Newton. I loved it, I did, but I'm over it now. :)
I don't know why this is turning into a rant. Maybe because every time I see something Twilight related now, I think, "OH MY GOOD GOLLY GOSH, WHY DO WE WORSHIP THINGS THAT ARE SO MEANINGLESS AND WHAT HAS THE HUMAN RACE COME TO THAT A STORY ABOUT PRETTY VAMPIRES ATTRACTS MORE ATTENTION THAN HEALTHCARE AND GLOBAL WARMING AND DEFORESTATION?!"
Just something to think about.
If you want something intruiging to read, I've recently fallen in love with Alice Hoffman. She's a genuinely superb writer, and her stories always leave you pondering. Also, I'm reading Invisible Man for school, and it's actually a very interesting book. It's a tale of racism and it's full of fascinating themes and symbolism. Coolstuff, fur shure.
I'm sorry if I offended any of you wonderful people. I know you are all amazing individuals, intelligent, kind, supercool, and I mean that. I know this outburst happened as suddenly as a goshdarn bomb, for just a few weeks ago I was all like "I'm going to continue this blog, don't worry peeps, I still like Twilight!" Well, I gave it some more thought, and I realized that I was trying to hang on to something that meant nothing to me. I don't care if you guys are Twilighters, Twihards, Edworshippers, whatever you want to call yourselves, and I don't care if you continue to obsess over Twilight for years to come. I just wanted to let you know that I've completely and utterly moved onward and am pursuing other obsessions. ;D Maybe I want to try to tell you that Twilight isn't as great as all these fangirls make it out to be and that it doesn't deserve screams that make peoples' ears bleed. I'm not sure. Maybe I'm just being a bitch. That is also a possibility.
I'm not continuing this blog. And if I do, then it will be about other things. I hope you guys don't hate me, because I certainly don't hate you. And I don't hate Twilight. I still see it as a cool story, but nothing more. I don't think I was ever actually obsessed with it, I just enjoyed sharing something fun and squee-worthy with others, and I enjoyed Edweird - I mean Edward, because I'm a boy-crazy, bat-crazy teenage girl. But now that it's blown up into this giant, annoying THING that has people acting like idiots and ignoring the more crucial and meaningful things of the world, I've come to accept that I'm past it. I'm above it. I know that sounds highly elitist, but when there is literature and film out there that is relevant to our ever-changing, ever-problematic world, I'm going to choose that. I know it sounds melodramatic, but it's how I honestly feel.
So, Stephenie Meyer, I hope you enjoyed the love that I gave you for that one foolish tick in my hopefully long and knowledge-filled life, but I am now off to bigger and better things. Don't worry, though. You have a gazillion dollars and a gazillion fans and you didn't even have to go to college for it. ;)

I'm sure you've all seen this and I'm sure you guys are going to be scoffing at me and saying, "she is SO out of the loop!" but I know you all want to see it again. Because it's kind of beautiful. And if ever I have to use an adjective like "dazzling" it is here and now:

I like this picture for about three billion eight-hundred and fifty-two reasons, but I'll just name a few...
1. It actually looks like a gorgeous, peaceful meadow and not, say, a golf course.
2. Edward looks pretty sexy. And, oh wow, he's wearing normal boyish clothes and a normal non-poofy hairstyle - he actually looks like the teenager that he's supposed to be. ;)
3. They're making - *gasp* - PHYSICAL CONTACT. Are we finally touching first base here? I think so. Go, Edward, go!
4. All the colors are matching and it makes me smile. =D

Oh, and I find it wonderfully amusing that when I mentioned Zachary Quinto in my last post, people started immediately commenting. 8D But seriously, the man has been consuming my every thought as of late. Creating a blog for him would be really fun. I need somewhere to gush about him and not seem insane. Though I might seem a little insane, regardless.

It's safe to say that my Twilight obsession has dramatically ebbed since I began this silly little blog thing.
It's also safe to say that my life has bumped up a few hundred notches on the stress-o-meter since I started this silly little blog thing.
But don't worry, guys! I don't like to give things up easily. ;) I'm not going to abandon this blog, even though it may seem that way (oops), and I still do like Twilight, even if I can't really call myself a die-hard Twilighter anymore.
Once I make my way to the calm eye of the storm - the storm that I'm referring to would consist of senior year, four AP classes, and college applications - I promise I will put some darn updates on this thing and get my groove back on... oh, what am I talking about? I never had a groove. BUT I will start writing here again, fur shure. In fact, winter break is but a few weeks away, and I plan to spend those two weeks pretending that school doesn't exist. That will be a perfect time to get back to the Twiblogging, or whatever the heck you call this. It seems like you can put Twi in front of anything nowadays. =P
My lack of recent commitment to the blog may also be due to the fact that I've found a new thing to obsess over. And by thing, I mean actor/man/god.
His name is Zachary Quinto and I have to confess that I'm kind of insanely in love with him.
Damnit.
I mean, why do celebrities do this to us? They charm the flippin' pants off of us and make us average citizens forget that we will probably never see them in the flesh and never have a nice conversation with them. Robert Pattinson did the same to me, the tease. Although I have to admit that Mr. Quinto is about, um, a million times more amazing. I know, I know. It's craziness. But I have indeed discovered an actor more intriguing, charming, witty, sexy, kind, and intelligent than our dear Edward Cullen incarnate.
Really, you guys. I encourage you to join me in falling hardcore in love with Zachary Quinto. Although, if you're still super attached to Twilight, you may be in danger of having it knocked right out from the center of your heart and quickly replaced.
And if you're looking for a good movie, try 2009's Star Trek. Okay, I can totally see the scrunched up expression that I know is plastered on your face after I just said that. I don't care if you've never seen an episode of Star Trek in your life. I don't care if you'd rather jump off a cliff than call yourself a Trekkie, or whatevertheheck. It was the same way for me. But I saw the Star Trek movie and I loved it. It's really great, everything about it. The story, the characters, the graphics. It was in this movie that I first discovered Zachary Quinto, too. ;) I went in to the theater thinking I would fall in love with Chris Pine (he plays Captain Kirk) because my goodness, that man is a cutie piece of pie, but I left the theater obsessing over an alien with a funny haircut and pointy ears. Only someone like Zachary could make someone like that appear strangely hot.
AAAAAND, Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince comes out on DVD soon~! I believe soon means December 8th. Yay for the holidays, am I right? I thought that movie was SUPERAMAZING, even though I avoid the Harry Potter books like the plague and cringe whenever I hear the word "wizard." That movie blew me away - it was by the far the best of the series. It was so mysterious and artfully composed and beautiful and intense and HI-larious.
OH, and one last thing (whenever I say that, it ends up being more like the fifth to last thing, but whatevaaahhh). I plan on writing a New Moon review very soon. But perhaps we should replace the word "review" with "rave" because I really liked that movie. It was very well done and I had extremely little to complain about. I'm not terribly fond of Taylor Lautner, but he made a fantastic Jacob. Heck, he made Jacob Pain-In-The-Tail Black likeable. And of course, Robert was a sexy, smoldering, melancholy Edward as always. And Kristen was...well, she was Bella. We'll just leave it at that. 8)
Well, this is coming out a bit bulkier than I originally intended. I guess I had a lot to say to the invisible faces of the internet. How about I close thing off, yeah?

It was so much better than Twilight, in my opinion. While Twilight did have a certain charm, there were quite a few parts that just made me cringe, and cringing is not exactly a great response to have during a film. New Moon, however, was so smooth and visually pleasing and emotional and intense and yet it still maintained the charm, humor, and artsiness of the first one. I was smiling the whole time. Even through the sad parts, when I was frowning, I was secretly smiling, because everything was pretty much perfect. I don't even have any major complaints...nope, can't think of any. I loved it. Loved it, loved it, adored it, loved it. Thank you Chris Weitz for creating something so awesome and worthy of the title New Moon. Can't wait to see it again! Eeeee! I might post a review/rave/thing about it sometime in the near future. I can't promise one, but I'll try. =)

Curious about Eclipse?
You should be, because supposedly the cast is in to their third week of filming for movie number three.
David Slade, the new director behind the action-packed awesomeness of Eclipse, has given us a couple of abstract peeks into what it will be like:

We have show-off Jacob and "You won't like me when I'm angry" Jacob. Yep, that pretty much sums him up. ;D
And David Slade seems like a cool director. All three of the bosses behind this Twilight franchise have been incredibly different, but I think David Slade may be the one who will really have us waiting with our eyebrows raised in skepticism and anticipation. So far he's been quite mysterious. I like it.

The Gallery of Evil Vampires

I now present to you some intense, beautiful, magical, disturbing, eerie, terryfing, awesome photos (and photos you've most likely already seen xP) of the Volturi:

Marcus - I love his stoic, unreadable face, which is exactly how Stephenie Meyer described him. And the white makeup is perfect, because it makes his skin look frail and almost translucent, which is another feature Stephenie clearly described.

Alec - He looks like a snooty teenage punk. xD

Aro - People have been complaining about the fact that he isn't dressed in a spooky cloak, but I think the suit kind of fits the personality that Stephenie created for Aro. He's mysterious and graceful, and yet he has kind of a child-like innocence that you can never trust. His facial expression portrays that perfectly, I think. ;D

Caius - Oh my goodness, he looks so...Volturi-esque and surreal. It's amazing. He looks completely and utterly creepy - somebody you wouldn't want to run into while walking through dark, underground passages in Italy - and yet still oddly beautiful.

Jane - Many have been saying she looks mediocre. I beg to differ. I think she looks pretty incredible. Her clothes have an innocence to them, because after all, she is just a small girl, and yet they're dark and brooding, especially the cape/jacket thing. Her face looks like that of a child, except for her eyes, which terrify the crap out of me. And they should - a stare from them can cause agony to anyone on her bad side.

Aw, and look at poor, melancholy Edward in the back. I'm going to miss him so much during the movie. :'(

And we have Aro and Cauis sitting royaly atop their fancy thrones, with Alec standing by, looking less like a little punk, thankfully. :P Their chairs are super duper cool. I want one. And the way Aro is sitting reminds me of Captain Kirk from Star Trek, ha. Only I don't think Kirk has red eyes...
Also, something I noticed, Caius is now wearing a suit in this one, just like Aro. (Remember the promotional pictures, and people complaining about Aro not wearing a cloak?) So maybe they only wear their cloaks when they go outside, and then when they return to their lair, they shed them so that they can flaunt their expensive Italian tuxedos. 8D

But, after being on vacation for a week, I just now saw THIS:

My behind was literally teetering on the edge of my seat the entire time! That was so intense and epic and insanely freakin' amazing! :D :D :D :D :D My excitement level for this movie just shot up another five thousand notches! I mean just look at all the exclamation points I'm using! I never use exclamation points!!!!!!!!!!!!
I don't even know what to say about it. It all looked so perfect.
I think my favorite part was the end, when Jacob said with a grave, threatening face, "Don't get me upset."

Remind you of someone? A big, green someone? Of course, we all know that growing big and turning into a werewolf is far more badass than growing big and turning into an ugly, green blob called the Hulk. ;D

Victoria Goes AWOL?!

I know you've all probably heard, but it's too terrible NOT to reiterate.

Rachelle Lefevre, our lovely, beautiful, magnificent Victoria, will not be returning to make her biggest appearence in Eclipse. :'(

Instead, Bryce Dallas Howard will be replacing her for the third film:

*sniffles* Rachelle had to be one my absolute FAVORITE of the cast. She's stunning, she's funny, she's friendly. She has wild, curly hair like me. :P But sadly, a rather inexplicable and perplexing scheduling conflict means New Moon is the last time will see her as part of the cast.

Below are Rachelle and Summit's offical statements about this latest ordeal. When you read them, you'll see why I'm confused about the whole thing.

LOS ANGELES, Calif. --
Summit Entertainment announced the replacement of “Twilight Saga” star Rachelle Lefevre in the series’ third film, “Eclipse,” on Tuesday night – and fans weren’t the only ones surprised by the news — Rachelle was shocked as well!

“I was stunned by Summit’s decision to recast the role of Victoria for ‘Eclipse,’” Rachelle said in a statement to Access Hollywood.

On Tuesday, Summit announced that Bryce Dallas Howard would be taking on the role in “Eclipse,” due in May 2010.

“I was fully committed to the ‘Twilight’ saga, and to the portrayal of Victoria,” Rachelle continued, explaining the turn of events that led to the casting change. “I turned down several other film opportunities and, in accordance with my contractual rights, accepted only roles that would involve very short shooting schedules. My commitment to ‘Barney’s Version’ is only ten days. Summit picked up my option for ‘Eclipse.’ Although the production schedule for ‘Eclipse’ is over three months long, Summit said they had a conflict during those ten days and would not accommodate me. Given the length of filming for ‘Eclipse,’ never did I fathom I would lose the role over a 10 day overlap. I was happy with my contract with Summit and was fully prepared to continue to honor it. Summit chose simply to recast the part.”

The star concluded her statement with a regretful tone.

“I am greatly saddened that I will not get to complete my portrayal of Victoria for the ‘Twilight’ audience. This is a story, a theatrical journey and a character that I truly love and about which I am very passionate. I will be forever grateful to the fan support and loyalty I’ve received since being cast for this role, and I am hurt deeply by Summit’s surprising decision to move on without me. I wish the cast and crew of ‘Eclipse’ only the very best,” she said.

Rachelle will appear in the series’ next film, “New Moon,” due Nov. 20.

SUMMIT:
We at Summit Entertainment are disappointed by Rachelle Lefevre’s recent comments which attempt to make her career choices the fault of the Studio. Her decision to discuss her version of the scheduling challenges publicly has forced the Studio to set the record straight and correct the facts.

* Ms. Lefevre’s representatives were advised as early as April that THE TWILIGHT SAGA: ECLIPSE was expected to start shooting in early August.

* If Ms. Lefevre was, as she describes “passionate,” about being part of THE TWILIGHT SAGA, we feel that she and her representatives would have included us in her decision to work on another film that would conflict with the shooting schedule of THE TWILIGHT SAGA: ECLIPSE.

* It was not until July 20th that Summit was first informed of Ms. Lefevre’s commitment to BARNEY’S VERSION, a commitment we have since been advised she accepted in early June. Summit had acted in good faith that she would be available to fulfill her obligations both in terms of rehearsals and shooting availability for THE TWILIGHT SAGA: ECLIPSE. We feel that her choice to withhold her scheduling conflict information from us can be viewed as a lack of cooperative spirit which affected the entire production.

* Furthermore Ms. Lefevre took a role in the other film that places her in Europe during the required rehearsal time, and at least ten days of THE TWILIGHT SAGA: ECLIPSE’s principal photography. This period is essential for both rehearsal time with the cast, and for filming at key locations that are only available during the initial part of production.

* Contrary to Ms. Lefevre’s statement, it is simply untrue that the Studio dismissed her over a ten day overlap. It is not about a ten day overlap, but instead about the fact that THE TWILIGHT SAGA: ECLIPSE is an ensemble production that has to accommodate the schedules of numerous actors while respecting the established creative vision of the filmmaker and most importantly the story.

The fact remains that Ms. Lefevre’s commitment to the other project - which she chose to withhold from Summit until the last possible moment - makes her unfortunately unavailable to perform the role of Victoria in THE TWILIGHT SAGA: ECLIPSE.

Rachelle and Summit are basically blaming one another for the problem. I don't know what's what, who's who, or how's how, but I do know that I'm VERY sad that Rachelle won't have her time to shine in Eclipse. Whatever the real reason for this, I'll always love her as a talented actress, she'll always have my utmost support, and I'm looking forward to whatever great film projects lay ahead of her.

I know that there are petitions going around, and people are claiming that they'll boycott the movie, and all that crazy angry-fan action. Personally, I think it's a bit ridiculous. I refuse to sign any petitions - they are good for a great deal of things, but I don't think the film industry is interested. What's gone down has gone down, and I don't think we can keep it from happening. As Twilight fans, I believe we should be optimistic, and we should CERTAINLY keep an open mind. Just because one actress has replaced another doesn't mean Eclipse is going to be horrible and it definitely does not mean we should boycott it before we even know what it looks like. That's unreasonable.

Moving on, I think that if they had to replace Rachelle, they replaced her with a great actress. Bryce Dallas Howard is beautiful, you can't deny that, and from what I heard she is very, very talented. The crazy thing is, she looks EXACTLY how I pictured Victoria in my head while reading the books. Exactly, exactly. She has great hair, great eyes, and I think she could look very vampiric with the right make-up and red contacts. I'm actually kind of excited to see what she'll bring to our beloved Twilight world, even if I'll miss Rachelle terribly.

Know that Rachelle was an amazing asset to Twilight and New Moon, and that Bryce Dallas Howard may have something unique and wonderful to offer to Eclipse. That's my final word. :)

It's super hot here.
We're having company.
Those are a couple reasons I haven't been updating quite as much.
But probably the foremost reason is that I've been torturing my eyes, reading one of the best fan-fictions that I've ever read.
If you're interested in fanfics (they're stories by people who use the characters and perhaps the basic storyline from books, films, TV shows, ect. and then create something new with them), then I have a suggestion for you. :)

It's actually quite well written, and from what I've read so far, it has a good plot and superb characters. If you want love, desire, despair, hope, angst, and all the emotions that make up a good story, then this is the one for you. Read it! NOW. :D

And while I'm still talking about fan fictions, there's another AMAZING one that I simply HAVE to usher you to. It's called Wide Awake and it's about Bella and Edward, but they're both human, and well, their stories couldn't be different than those in Stephenie's saga. They both have fascinating back stories that are slowly divulged, and then the story of them falling in love is both simple, and wonderfully intricate at the very same time. You'll probably have to get used to Edward's character - he's VERY different than the gentle, chivilrous, too-lovely-to-be-real Edward from Twilight, but, personally, I love him MORE. Everything about it is great, the writing is beautiful...JUST READ IT BY CLICKING HERE. xD

It was today. :) Did anyone go? I certainly didn't.
A bunch of the New Moon cast attended, and Kristen Stewart, Taylor Lautner, and Robert Pattinson were there to represent Bella, Jacob, and Edward.
Two clips were shown, and from what I hear, one was of Bella and Jacob riding their motorcyles (with Edward appearing as Bella's hallucination) and the other clip was of Alice and Bella racing to Italy to rescue Edward.
As of now, I can't find any videos showing those two fantastic clips, nor do I have any good quality videos of the cast being interviewed on the panel. As soon as I do get my virtual hands on any such videos, I'll post them here, of course.

I do, however, have a few rather entertaining interview from E!News and Entertainment Weekly.

It's New Moon Monday, Folks! (Even Though it's Tuesday...?)

Well, whatever day it may be, I doubt there's a wrong time for a good old New Moon set report!
Rotten Tomatoes has taken on the task of giving us fans a peek into the set every week. Here's this week's (they're very detailed, it's incredible!):

When Rotten Tomatoes arrived on the set of The Twilight Saga: New Moon for a second day of observation on the Volturi stage, filming was already underway on a pivotal scene. We'd been promised we'd see wire work, so I immediately guessed that a fight scene was on the docket. Would we see Edward (Robert Pattinson) thrown about by the hulking Volturi guard, Felix? After all, actor Daniel Cudmore (X-Men 3's Colossus) had been spotted on set the previous day, leafing through magazines between scenes.

Perhaps an Edward-Felix fight had been filmed, but it was not while we were on set. In the middle of the Volturi chamber, the scenario was similar to the previous day: Bella (Kristen Stewart), Edward (Pattinson), and Alice (Ashley Greene) stood facing off against their Volturi hosts, Aro (Michael Sheen), Jane (Dakota Fanning), and Alec (Cameron Bright). In the scene, Edward rushes forward to stop Aro from "testing" vampire powers on Bella, only to suffer the crippling pain of Jane's power. It was a tough scene; the set was eerily quiet, save for the sound of Pattinson's body hitting the ground with every take.

While the first Twilight film used plenty of wire work to achieve the look of vampires running/climbing with effortless ease (an effect criticized for a lack of weightiness and realism), wires here were being used in quite a different way. Stunt coordinator JJ Makaro, who paused for a moment to chat, said that the crew was making deliberate pains to make New Moon's action look more realistic.

Death Cab For Cutie Possibly on New Moon Soundtrack

This hasn't been confirmed, so I wouldn't be surprised if in a few days we get a statement from the band saying it was simply a rumor, but we can hope, can't we? They're a really amazing band, I only just recently starting listening to their stuff. They have beautiful, meaningful lyrics and the melodies always inspire rare emotions - so many bands nowadays lack both of those things.
Anyway, I wanted to show you guys this music video for their song "Grapevine Fires." It's such a unique story...and super sad. It's true, too. If the comments on YouTube are credible, then Grapevine is the nickname for a town in southern California and in 2007 there was a very bad fire. The lead singer of the band was there when the town was burning, and the terrible things he witnessed inspired this song.
Anyway. I'm getting all emotional, here. :P Enjoy:

As for what song of theirs should actually be on the soundtrack, some people are saying "I Will Follow You Into the Dark", and I think that would be a very nice one.
It would be even nicer if they composed a new song. :*

Twilight, Manga Style!

Apparently, a Twilight graphic novel is now in the works. Take a look at these beautiful drawings of Edward, Jacob, and Bella:

Entertainment Weekly has an article accompanying the drawings. Here's what it says:

Twilight fans have devoured the books, flocked to the movie, and snapped up the DVD. So why not a graphic novel? The publishers behind Stephenie Meyer's smash teen vampire series are preparing two volumes drawn by Korean artist Young Kim and heavily edited by Meyer. "For years I've had many fans ask me if there will be a graphic-novel version of Twilight," Meyer said in a statement. "I know they'll be just as thrilled as I am for this new interpretation." The graphic novel is essentially Meyer's brain on paper. "Stephenie is reviewing every page, every panel," says Kurt Hassler, publishing director for Yen Press, an imprint of Hachette Book Group. "People should feel like they are getting a rare glimpse inside her vision of the property."

Whether you'd really buy a Twilight graphic novel or not, you have to admit that those drawings are quite gorgeous. I wish I could bring a character to life with nothing but pencil lines! And I rather like the idea of this graphic novel - yes, we all know they're trying to make as much money off our obsessions as possible, and, hell, it's working, but at least this looks like it will be something of quality. I doubt I'll buy it, but it is a cool idea. Better than New Moon candy or Edward body glitter or Alice lipgloss at least. x)

The LA Times has an article about how things are going with the making of New Moon. But that's not the exciting part. This right here is what this post is all about:

Heck, I'm a Bedward shipper as much as the next Twilighter, but I have to admit that I love this still! Jacob looks fine...and by that I mean FIIINE...but more than that, the set of his jaw is protective and the look in his eyes is concern and, honestly, love. Bella looks so pale and tired and confused...and you can also see a bit of love in her eyes, just a different kind.
Anyway, here's the actual words to the article I sort of mentioned earlier ;P :

Reporting from Vancouver, Canada -- Robert Pattinson is having an Obi-Wan Kenobi moment. Inside a soundstage where "The Twilight Saga: New Moon" is shooting, the lanky English heartthrob stands in front of a tall, wide green screen murmuring a tender admonition, "You promised me nothing reckless." Motion capture cameras hurtle toward him across a length of track affixed to the stage floor, while a team of technicians studies his stance and the tilt of his head.

The plan is to digitally insert Pattinson, who plays swoony good guy vampire Edward Cullen, into a scene that was filmed much earlier -- one in which he appears as a spectral vision to his costar, Kristen Stewart, cautioning her headstrong character, Bella Swan, against hanging out with some unsavory-looking biker types. For the effect to work, Pattinson's image will need to be dropped in at exactly the right position, so despite the cast and crew nearing the end of a very long early May day, perfectionism is still the standard.

The team working on this sequel to last year's Catherine Hardwicke-directed "Twilight," which brought in an unexpected $365 million worldwide for Summit Entertainment, is moving quickly to sustain the momentum of the sexy, youth-oriented franchise.

Werewolves and Wizards and Geeks, Oh My!

This is a bit of a news collage, here.

First off, we get a look at some bare-chested wolf boys. *whistles*

Move over werewolves of London! The werewolves of Forks have arrived! I can't really tell who is who, but I know that Alex Meraz, who plays hotheaded Paul, and Chaske Spencer, who plays big boy Sam, are both present. To me, it looks like Chaske (what a cool name) is the one pointing and Alex is the one showing off his eighteen-pack. The one standing behind with his clothes still on...that could be Kiowa Gordon, who plays Embry, but I'm not sure, so don't take my word for it. There is one thing that can't be denied, however...they all look fierce! ;D

Also, Comic-Con is on July 23rd! I think we all remember last year's fiasco with Twilight...no doubt the screams of fans will reach decibals thus far unknown when New Moon is presented. Here's a bit of info that Summit has relseased:

If someone told me to choose which series I like best - Harry Potter or Twilight - I'd say Twilight in a heart beat. BUT, I do love the Harry Potter movies, just as much as I love the Twilight movie, and I'm as excited for the next few as I am excited for New Moon, Eclipse and Breaking Dawn. There's no reason for any competition to exist between the two franchises...just because they're both popular, that automatically means it's a wild race to see who is MOST popular? That's bogus, and we know it. I like both. They're both amazing. Vampires and wizards are both badass, okay? :P

But changes are fine by me. They worked for Twilight, they can work for New Moon.
The only issue I'm having with that, is it looks like they're standing in some meadow on a hot summer day in California. Where's the Forks greenery?! =o
It looks like they toned down the break-up scene for the trailer, but I can tell it has the potential to be heart-shattering.
GRRRR! Big brown wolfie! I like it. I just hope they aren't done tampering with the special effects for the wolf because it looks rather fake. Lovely, but fake.

Edit: I just realized something, after watching the trailer about, oh, 53564657 more times. I don't think Chris did change the Laurent scene. I think when Jacob turns into a wolf, it's at a different part because Bella's clothes change. I think Laurent going all wide-eyed and then Jake running and morphing into a wolf are from two different scenes, just put together to look like they match. Trailers do that all the time.

I haven't posted a SINGLE update in, like, FOREVER and I can't even BEGIN to tell you how SORRY I am.
Anyway, I suggest you brace yourself for this upcoming tirade...
School is to my life as an eclipse is to the moon. It just completely looms over every other important thing that may be going on in life and demands the most attention out of all of them. The teachers nag, they get lazy, they get irritable, they decide for some moronic reason to pile all of their most torturous projects on us already busy teenagers at the very last minute, they suddenly realize that they haven't been giving enough homework throughout the last three quaters of the year and so they assign more and more and more, and did I mention that they nag? Oh and as if things like AP tests that cost almost a hundred dollars - a hundred dollars for a piece of paper! They don't even provide the pencils! - and SATs and finals aren't enough to make a high schooler's head explode in a mess of brain juices and skull fragments. All over the carpet that hasn't been vaccumed since November. I hope that happens soon - just not to me. 0:-)
Sports take up a lot of time, too. A LOT of time. And while classes like Math and History think that THEY are bigger than the universe, all the sports simultaneously believe the same thing.
Sometimes I wonder if adults aren't just lying to us when they claim that their lives demand SO much more responsibility and that we should quit whining. THEY can whine about bills, but WE can't whine about juggling six different classes like a bunch of flippin' circus performers - circus performers who happen to be mercilessly graded and who have to graduate from juggling to tight-rope walking or it's back to cleaning elephant poop fer ye?

I will now get my butt away from the computer and continue with my schoolwork. Because as much as it stresses me out, as much as I want to throw it all in the garbage and watch it go up in birght orange flames, as much as I want to scream and throw something - preferably a math book - out the window, it's as much a part of life as paying the bills is. Adults do it. So can teenagers. And I continue to believe, even through all my hostility, that these horrid high school experiences will be on my side as I persue a successful, wonderful life.
This, my fellow Twilighters, is why I am choosing schoolwork over the literary obsession of my life. For now, anyway. Even though Twilight is what makes me smile and releases some of that tension from my muscles, it isn't Twilight that's going to get me into college so that I can begin my trek through life with a bounce in my step and confidence in my shoulders.
This sounds stupid.
So, basically, I'll end with this:
I'm not dead. I'm not terminally ill. I'm not bored of Twilight - what a thought! I'm just masochistic.
The good news?
Summer is almost here. :D

P.S. Those of you who have followed me through with my little ridiculous blog and have commented on all my ridiuclous little updates make me smile the widest. =D I hope that as soon as I get back into my Twilight groove - which will hopefully be soon - that you guys will still be here to make me feel awesome. ^__^

Aro Has a Secret, Too: His Last Name May be Sheen!

The Twilight World already has a candidate for Caius - Jamie Campbell Bower - whether that be genuine or another of the rumors that are coming down like a hail storm, nobody knows...at least, none of us fans, that is. And now to add to the list of Volturi actors, DailyMail presents to you Michael Sheen:
In New Moon, Sheen will play Aro, the leader of an Italian vampire clan called the Volturi.

Director Chris Weitz confirmed Sheen’s casting to The Mail on Sunday and said he had ‘aggressively’ pursued the actor.

‘Michael’s role is so important because he’s the head of all vampires,’ he said. ‘Aro is, on the surface, a very gracious and friendly vampire, but beneath that he is a tremendous threat.’

Hmm. Sounds pretty official to me, but who can you trust with the Twinews these days? Anyway, I think he looks spiffy. I haven't seen him act in anything, although he looks familiar, but one of his most well-known films seems to be Underworld, where he plays some character named Lucian. He has that dangerous, kind of fierce, yet relatively handsome and younger look that a Volturi vamp should have. But hey - I'm not judging too far until I see these guys in full costume. Miracles can be made with a bit of makeup and cool 'do. ;)

Oh, I love the people over at Twilight-Gossip and how they are unashamed to travel around in their car with a camera, hunting along sidestreets and woodlands for New Moon sets. ;P In fact, I think I now know why us fans are sometimes called Fanpires...the vampires and the fans of Twilight really aren't that different!

Who knows what this could be? The forest where Bella and Edward take their heart-shattering "walk", the meadow where Bella encounters Laurent and the big bad wolves, some other scene in a mossy forest (there are lots throughout the Twilight series)...
But I do know one thing for certain...

I don't imagine that the Easter Bunny would dare to visit the Cullens, for fear of becoming vampire chow, but us Twilight fans can celebrate it anyway. :D
I'm all cooped up in my house while the rain is mercilessly hammering my roof, but it's still a good day because I watched the special features on the Twilight DVD over again and I ate candy. :)

Oh by the way, I feel bad for not updating much lately. School as been busy and stressful and stupid and crazy and argh. But sometimes you just have to push aside those "important" things and distract yourself with something wonderful, like New Moon. :D

Oh my word, they are so gorgeous. Mr. Weitz is really outdoing himself, as far as making Edward and Bella look like they did in Twilight, only a million times better. The makeup and costuming is perfect. And you can actually see the gold in Edward's dazzling eyes, even from far away.

Rob Becomes Ed for New Moon

LaineyGossip is reporting that Robert Pattinson is just now beginning to shoot the few scenes that he will star in for New Moon:

Rob meanwhile shot his first scenes for New Moon yesterday. That’s right. Yesterday. He had not been on set up until that point. He’s been in Vancouver, he’s had some test photos taken, and wardrobe and makeup, and training, and rehearsals, but he had not been on set. Not a single frame was filmed until yesterday. Yesterday he was on set shooting with Kristen Stewart. More of the same throughout the week.

Don't Take the Twilight News Too Seriously Today...

Because people just love to lie during this time of the year. You wouldn't want to give yourself a heart attack after reading some headline that says something completely ridiculous...

OMG! I just found out that Robert Pattinson is quitting acting this year because he's so tired of us annoying fans and that he will not be playing Edward in New Moon! Instead Taylor Lautner will take over the role of the hunky vampire!
WAIT! This just in...Taylor Lautner will ALSO be playing Bella, because Kristen Stewart has run away to get married to Rob!
OMG! I just found out that New Moon will be postponed until 2015 because of horrible accidents that recently ensued on the set! It appears that Chris Weitz was abducted by aliens while filming in Vancouver! And that's not all! Witnesses are also reporting that a stampede of elephants trampled the set - oh, and a few of the actors, too - and destroyed everything in their path! There is no report as of now whether these animals are under control, or whether it is just a rumor that Billy Burke was dressed as a cowboy and riding one of them...
OMG! I just found out that Stephenie Meyer is planning to burn every single copy of Twilight, New Moon, Eclipse, and Breaking Dawn ever produced so that none of us can ever read them ever, EVER again! So do not be alarmed if a big beefy guy suddenly appears at your door and demands that you give up any book of Stephenie Meyer's in your possession! Stephenie and her cohorts tell us that they WILL resort to consulting Volturi if fans do not obey!

Now, you see what I mean? If I had not warned you before hand, you might have taken these news reports seriously and started screaming and/or had a stroke.
So I will repeat myself one more time, so that it sticks in your head...

If Books Could Have Soundtracks

I realized, while lying in bed the other night with my iPod in my ears, that there are so many songs I listen to over and over again and yet I have no idea what they mean. There are so many songs that I love just because they sound nice, but they are songs whoes lyrics I'd never actually tried to find the meaning of. And so while I started rolling the lyrics of each song on my playlist in my head, I began thinking of the Twilight Saga (I've been recently rereading New Moon and now Eclipse, so Bella, Edward, and Jacob were already on my mind). I ended up finding a few songs that I think would be perfect to have playing in the background while reading Stephenie's books. If her books - and I want to stress that I am referring to the books, and not the film - had soundtracks, these are few of the songs that I think would be beautiful:

Never Too Late by Three Days Grace. To me, this song reflects how Jacob feels about Bella being turned into a vampire (in Eclipse, mostly). I suppose it could be from Edward's view too, but to Jacob, his best friend becoming a vampire is no different than his best friend dying:

My Sacrifice by Creed. This song also revolves mostly around Jacob to me. Well, more like Bella finding Jacob. It could be applied to many situations between the two of them, like the way Jacob healed Bella after Edward left, and also the way Bella comforted and supported Jacob after he found out he was a werewolf. I think the fact that New Moon is coming up has me thinking about that silly dog. :)
P.S. this one has some spelling mistakes. Oh well.

Shadow of the Day by Linkin Park. Whenever I really listen to this song, I think of Breaking Dawn. Bella's life is, in a way, ending. She's saying good-bye to many people. And when I think of the sun setting and the shadow of the day making the world grey, for some reason I think of being born as a vampire.

Somewhere Only We Know by Keane. This song just totally reminds me of Edward and Bella's meadow - just the title is enough to bring that scene from the book to my head. But I think it could represent Edward's journey finding and falling in love with Bella in many ways as well. =]

Everywhere by Michelle Branch. I listen to a lot of songs sung by men. And I don't know why, but a lot of them really capture the feelings portrayed in Stephenie Meyer's books, even though they are obviously targeted toward women. But here's a song by Michelle Branch that matches how Bella feels about Edward, mostly in Twilight. Edward watches over her when she sleeps, his presence feels like a dream, and basically, he's everywhere.

So what are your opinions? What songs do you think would fit perfectly within the pages of Twilight, New Moon, Eclipse, Breaking Dawn, or just the saga in general? =D

Don't Bella and Jake (and Bella's good ol' Chevy) look awesome? Kristen looks beautiful, and yet she is still completely ordinary with her long mess of red hair and tomboyish style. And Taylor...well even from behind you can't deny that he's looking fierce. And that wig is about five hundred times better than the one he wore in Twilight.
Who's excited? I'm not. I'm ECSTATIC. :D

P.S. If you guys think I shouldn't post pictures from the set like this because you think they'll spoil us, just holler. I'd like to know. :)

Caius Has a Secret: He May Be British!

THIS HAS NOT BEEN CONFIRMED BY SUMMIT, but BBC News is revealing the man who will play Caius, one of the three old Volturi brothers (the bored one, as I recall Stephenie Meyer often describing him :P):

British actor Jamie Campbell-Bower has revealed he will play Volturi leader Caius in The Twilight Saga: New Moon.

The 20-year-old, who has appeared in RockNRolla and Sweeney Todd, told the BBC news website that taking part in the vampire series was "very exciting".

"You're the first people I've told" he said. "Shooting has already started, and I'm going over in June."

The film, due for release in November, is the second adaptation from author Stephenie Meyer's Twilight series.

The role of Caius is key to the plot of New Moon. He forms part of the triumvirate leading the Italian based coven of vampires called the Volturi.

The second book in the series see the gang become a threat to lovers Bella and Edward.

Oh my god. If this isn't just another of those pesky rumors (and it sure seems authentic), then I think he would be great. He already looks vampiric in that photo of him, even without long silky hair, red eyes, and white skin. And I'd like to point something out - upon reading some of the comments on other sites that are reporting this, people are complaining that he's way too young. I agree, he looks very child-like. But we have to stop and remember the small details Stephenie provided. Have we learned nothing from reading the Twilight series over and over again as I'm sure we all have? Carlisle is like 300 years old and he looks not a day over 20. Just because these vampires have lived so long and just because Stephenie described them as "frail" looking, does not mean they are also old looking. It all depends on when they were turned, which I believe was quite young. As I rememeber, Stephenie also described them as flawless and beautiful, just with chalky skin and milky eyes. If you got some old guy with wrinkles to play Stephenie's kind of vampires, well then that would just defeat the purpose. Don't worry you guys - the people they choose for the Volturi are probably all going to be quite young, because there has to be an underlying beauty to them. But have you ever heard of thing called makeup? These aren't your typical rawr-monster-scary vampires, here. Sure they are creepy, but it's a different kind of creepy, and I have confidence that Chris Weitz will be able to capture that. Movie magic, folks. =]

The Kids Chose...

The story that has seemed to touch us all was nominated as best book of the year at the Kids Choice Awards 2009, and, as you can tell, it was picked...over Harry Potter, too! :) Earlier in the month, it was stated that Robert Pattinson would be there to present or something, but he's too busy doing more important things - A.K.A filming New Moon. Don't be too sad, because a Twilight star still showed up to get the girls squeeling.

Worst Enemies One Moment, BFFs the Next

Larry Carroll over at MTV posted an article about lovely Nikki Reed how to she has to go back and forth between hating Bella and loving Kristen:

It ain't easy being the most beautiful woman in the world. It's no cakewalk when you personify one of the most beloved characters in Stephenie Meyer's best-selling "Twilight" series, either. But these days, Nikki Reed is looking forward to ticking off millions of people all over again.

"Rosalie feels really strongly about her hatred for Bella," grinned the 20-year-old Hollywood veteran, who returns to the set of "New Moon" this week to resume shooting the sequel. "It's bizarre. Obviously, we can do it because it is acting. But it is really funny."

She's speaking about her real-life love for BFF Kristen Stewart — a sharp contrast to her character's distaste toward Stewart's Bella. Fans all over the world have loved to hate Reed for being so cruel to their Bella, but in actuality, the duo recently took a vacation together to Africa and plan to reunite for the movie "K-11" between "Twilight" sequels.

"Kristen's my best friend," she said. "I get to work on a set with really wonderful people and really creative people, and there are a million people in the world that have read this series and love the series. I get to be with my best friend. I can't think of anything better."

Unfortunately, Reed's "New Moon" experience will be without another dear friend: director Catherine Hardwicke. "My dad told me," she remembered of how she heard the news that her "Thirteen" and "Lords of Dogtown" director was leaving the series. "I can't tell you I was shocked, because this happens in trilogies. Chris Weitz is not doing the third. I think they are going to have a different director for both ['Eclipse' and 'New Moon'], and I think the best response is just to say I have faith in Summit, and I think they know what they are doing.

"There is no better guy [than Weitz] for this film," she insisted. "And I'm sure I'll work with Catherine in the future."

"The first ['Twilight' film] was such a unique experience, because we had such a large cast and we didn't really know if we were going to make sequels — we weren't expecting the kind of success that the film had," she explained of the "Twilight" roller-coaster ride. "But we've all remained really good friends.

"As an actor, you always feel heartbroken when you leave a project, because it is this really unhealthy tug-of-war," Reed said of her profession. "You get really close, and then you get separated and most likely you'll never see your castmembers again unless it's at an event years down the road. And [then] it's like, 'Hey, how are you?,' and there's a big hug. But you have this nomadic [quality to life]; you're never really in the same place, so it's hard to bond.

"We've all bonded," she said of her first sequel. "We're excited to see each other again."

Reed's early discussions with Weitz have focused mainly on Rosalie's hair, as well as the evolving look of the whole Cullen family. But keeping in line with Stewart's recent revelation that the "New Moon" cliff-dive will be CGI, she said the new director seems determined to take the look of "Twilight" to a new level.

"Chris is great, and he's got a different approach to this film," she revealed. "I think there's a progression with the special effects and stuff, with Jacob being introduced as a werewolf. I think everyone is walking into this knowing there is going to be a more heightened level of effects."

But if you're afraid that "New Moon" might lose some of the human element, don't worry. Reed was quick to remind us that her character's tumultuous relationship with Bella remains unchanged.

"Obviously, Rosalie hates her in ['New Moon']," Reed smiled. "Hopefully, we don't laugh too much while we are making it."

The new and improved special effects will be wicked, that's for sure. =D I just hope Chris Weitz keeps the very real and human aspect that Catherine played up in Twilight.

Heavens above, the media must have a magnifying glass with them at all times or something, because they pick out the tiniest flaws, the tiniest sarcastic comebacks, the tiniest incidents in a celebrity's life and then stretch and stretch them until they're made into the biggest thing since the Holocaust.
Oh, and sometimes they don't even have that tiny speck to go on. Sometimes their stories are born from nothing but air!
I mean, seriously people. With headlines like Robert Pattinson: Odor Offender?, I'M NOT GAY!, Robert Pattinson Considering a Job that Allows Him to Go into Hiding, Twilight Cast Group Chain Smokes, Robert Pattinson Hates Soap, Robert Pattinson Hit in the Head with a Sign, is it possible for an actor, and especially one as down to earth as Rob, to be a normal person?
Sadly, it seems the answer is no. And I wasn't making those headlines up, either. xD Go on RPatzz Daily if you don't believe me.
But here to perhaps assist in putting the smallest fraction of reason into Rob's life is Moviefone, and their interview with the one and only:

Access Hollywood has a very intriguing (and somewhat amusing :D) look into Rob's performance as Salvador Dali in Little Ashes:

I have to admit, I'm surprised - and pleasantly so - at how different Rob is in this film and how he is completely absorbed in this role. You can't deny his flexibility - an important characteristic in the acting industry. And his Spanish accent sounded sounded so natural (to me, anyway :P)! The range of tones, the odd facial expressions, the crazed gestures...the moo-stache...you've got me hooked, Mr. Pattinson.

New Moon has its Heidi.

I can exclusively reveal that Canadian supermodel Noot Seear has won the coveted role of the beautiful human bait in the Twilight sequel.

Heidi is described in Stephenie Meyer's novel as a "fisher" who brings humans to the Volturi vampires to eat. She has "exceptional, unforgettable" beauty, which includes stunning legs, long hair and violet eyes.

Until the article clarified, I didn't even remember who Heidi was! But I can picture her now. She was a minor character, so they could have called a Disney star in for all I care...okay, maybe not. :P When they finally announce the rest of the actual Volturi, then I'll be excited!

BuddyTV had what they called a "Twilight Challange" where four people (three of which had never read Twilight) watched the film and commented on it.

It was a normal night like any other when Debbie, Oscar, Meghan and I sat down to watch Twilight. We curled up in my bed (well, Oscar sat in a chair) and gleefully anticipated the beginning of the film. I had my three Twilight virgins with me and I knew from their initial thoughts that this was going to be a hard task.

What I will say of the following live thoughts is this: don’t judge them like they tried not to judge Twilight. Debbie really wanted Bella and Edward to get down, Meghan wanted to get down with Edward and Oscar had his own special outlook on things. They were hilarious but moreover, they expressed a lot of concerns that non-readers might have while watching the movie. Some things they didn’t understand and some things they grasped fully. If you've seen the movie ten times like me (yeah, that's right, I've seen it that many times since we did the initial thoughts video), then it'll be easy to figure out what we're talking about. If not, I leave contextual clues along the way. if you still can't figure it out, please, go watch Twilight again, for me... Warning: The conversation that follows may not be suitable for minors.

Stalking Does Have Its Perks

Twilight-Gossip.com snatched a short video and a couple snapshots of Bella's run-down truck and two dirt bikes/motorcycles loaded in the back. It's just so insignificant but you can't help but burst with excitement anyway! =D

This could mean one of three things:
1. Kristen and Taylor are preparing to shoot any number of scenes with the motorcyles and Jacob's shed.
2. They just have it parked out there to taunt us because they know we're all watching at the utmost edges of our seats and they want to see us fall off.
3. Some random kid just happens to have a red truck that bears an uncanny likeness to Bella's and also happens to be going dirt-biking with a friend.
Hmmmm. :)

So bright and early this morning my parents went to the store after I had requested that they pretty please run and get Twilight because it's out on DVD today. They returned, deciding to be cruel and tell me there was a huge line and they were sold out, which I bought for a second before my mom put the DVD into my hand and I jumped up and down.
Then I watched it. At like 9:30 or so in the morning.
It was amazing. I like it more and more everytime I see it. (But I still laugh at some of the cheesy stuff, because how can you not? ;D)
I haven't watched all the extras yet. I'll save those for later. They're like candy, you have to savor them. Or at least wait a while before you gobble them all up.
Anyway, let's just say this is a super sweet saturday. ^_^

Ahhhh look at Ashley's eyes! Now that's what I call a vampire! :K And her hair! Rachelle was looking super fierce, too, and Kristen was looking adorable and innocent-little-Bella-like, and Taylor was looking like a hot tamale and of course Rob was just being Rob with that brooding stare and then that goofy smile at the end.

And speaking of how awesome Ashley is and everything, she talked with 4tnz about Taylor's becoming a Spartan and how Rob will be flittering about in New Moon:

On Taylor's bod: "He looks fantastic…I was sitting in the make-up trailer and I looked over and he was taking his shirt off because he was doing a—they were looking for his double—and I was just like, “You’ve got to be joking. You’ve got to be joking.” The girls are going to be very satisfied, I can tell you. It looks like [The] 300!"

On Rob in New Moon: "Of course they threw Rob in there! He comes in as a flittering image to tell Bella not to do anything reckless and then you have him at the very beginning at school, at the party when he’s saying goodbye to her and the flitterring images and in Italy as well, so they’ll get their fix."

The cliff diving scenes are being shot as we freak...I mean speak! ;D

Taylor Lautner and Kristen Stewart were in Tofino, British Columbia yesterday – where Scarlett Johansson and Ryan Reynolds were married but not at that resort – shooting around South Beach and the Wickaninnish Inn. More of that is happening today. Rachelle Lefevre is said to be around too. Cliff diving, near drowning, and rescue…or something. Am sure you twi-hards know exactly. Please, you don’t need to tell me.

Kristen Stewart Calls Out Media's Recent Bulls**t

We were looking at a comic strip in my English class about the media. It had three trucks lined up on the sidewalk and each had a big, bold world on it: Lies, Rumors, Innuendos. And then there was a group of reporters, ready to jump on the smallest thing, and already devising plans to exaggerate the information and twist it to their liking.
Basically, I think we as a people would be a lot more sane if not for the media.
Anyway, Kristen Stewart has a few refreshing words to say:

Good news fanggirls: Kristen Stewart says there will be a fourth Twilight movie. She can’t imagine why there wouldn’t be a big-screen adaptation of Stephenie Meyer’s Breaking Dawn, the last novel in her young vampire series.

As we all know by now, Twilight was one of last year’s biggest hits, New Moon starts shooting any minute now, and the studio most recently announced they’ve officially started work on developing Eclipse.

“We all really hope there is going to be a number four,” Stewart, 18, told me yesterday afternoon when we sat down to chat in a suite at L.A.’s Sofitel hotel. “I’m pretty confident that the fans aren’t going to all of a sudden lose interest. The only case that a fourth one wouldn’t be made is if all of a sudden people stopped caring, and I really don’t think that’s going to happen.”

And that’s not about to happen for Stewart, either. In fact, she’d like to set the record straight about critics who have come to attack her as some sort of Hollywood ingrate who doesn’t think very highly of Twilight or its more dedicated—some would say obsessed—fan base.

“I love the fans,” she insists. “I feel like I am one of the fans and any direct interaction I’ve ever had with them has been the most warm and pleasant and enthusiastic. If anything, it’s the biggest driving force that could propel you to do something.”

That doesn’t mean all the new attention—OK, hysteria—can’t be overwhelming at times. But when she was recently quoted in a magazine as describing some of these experiences as “psychotic,” some felt she was taking a dig at the fans. “It’s not normal for me to be in a situation that Twilight puts you in,” she explains. “It’s not personally normal for me to see 5,000 screaming girls. But I’m not criticizing them for being ‘crazy’ about me. I’m sort of going, “Wow, this is just crazy!’ ”

Crazy too are the yet to be proven rumors that she and Robert Pattinson are more than just friends. “Rob and I are great friends,” Stewart says. “But I understand why you would assume that when we lean on each other for support, there must be something more…And I’m not criticizing anyone for thinking it either. If anything, they’re really perceptive, because they can see a closeness.” (Her longtime boyfriend, actor Michael Angarano, isn’t fazed by the talk either. “We laugh about it,” Stewart says.)

When Stewart wasn’t at the Oscars last month, critics pounced again. Did she dislike Twilight so much that she wasn’t willing to support it like Pattinson, who was a first-time presenter? Was she scared the supposed secret romance between her and her costar would be too hard to hide if they appeared together on the same stage on Hollywood’s biggest night?

Um, no! She had a very good reason for not being there—she wasn’t asked. “If I was invited to the Oscars, I would be there in a nanosecond,” she says. “If I got an invitation to the Oscars, I wouldn’t turn it down!”

Perhaps next year she and Pattinson could sing together at the Oscars? Late last month, the two engaged in some late-night karaoke while promoting Twilight in Tokyo. Stewart and Pattinson covered Elton John’s “Your Song.” “Rob could definitely do a musical,” Stewart says.

Also belting out tunes were Hugh Jackman and director Baz Luhrmann, who were in Tokyo for the local premiere of Australia. When Stewart first arrived at the bar, Pattinson and Jackman were already engaged in a “really, really elaborate ABBA moment.” Later on, Luhrmann joined Pattinson at the mic. “It was really funny seeing Baz Luhrmann and Rob singing a David Bowie song,” Stewart says. “It was a talky one so they both could sort of talk to each other, and they were riffing back and forth.”

She adds with a laugh, “They were looking longingly into each other’s eyes.”

As for Stewart, she starts rehearsals for New Moon next week, followed by about four months of filming in Vancouver and Italy with new director Chris Weitz. Then she’s off to play Joan Jett in a biopic about her 1970s all-girl band, The Runaways. Stewart plans to do her own singing. “I don’t see any reason not to,” she says. “If it’s not going to be Joan, it’s going to be me.”

I like her honesty. She has her head screwed on the exact right way, unlike most actors these days. It's not the fame, the cameras, the reporters, the money - it seems to me like it's just her and her work. That's it. That's how it should be.
And the Twilight fans are so darn paranoid and overly-sensitive sometimes. Kristen says she's overwhelmed? OMG she hates us! Kristen isn't at the Oscars? OMG she doesn't care about Twilight! Kristen is standing next to Rob? OMG they must be in luuuv!
God, people. Seriously. XD
And Twilight fans are psychotic. All they do is scream and scream and swoon and scream some more. I mean a lot of them, anyway. Some us are rather reserved. But you can't deny that they are crazy, so why should Kristen have to? If I was in front a giant sea of Twilight-crazed people, the only word that would come to mind would be "psychotic". Maybe "crazy" and "nuts", too. That's not to say our dedication isn't an honorable thing. But there's a line, and sometimes the fans cross it, leap over it, even. It doesn't mean she hates us. The fame would overwhelm ANYONE. Rob calls it crazy and no one criticizes him for it.
I'm pretty sure you guys are jealous of Kristen. ;)
Oh and melodramatic karaoke with Robert sounds like an amazing time. =D

Another Deleted Scene! It's Dangerous

But just remember it isn't the most dangerous thing out there...

I like this one. But does anyone else have a problem with how Kristen acts in some of these scenes? Bella's infamous inept quality is there, yeah, but Kristen adds something else, something like ignorance or disregard. Like "psh, shut your mouth you annoying vampire" or "what the heck are you doing in my life?" And somehow it bugs me. I mean first, it's not how Bella is, and second, it just makes the dialogue bewteen them weird. I don't know, I just thought I'd point that out. Maybe I'm the only one who is slightly peeved by that.
I still love Kristen, please don't get me wrong. *hugs KStew* =]

The Twilight Brothers?

MTV has an article about my favorite thing (Twilight) and my least favorite thing (The Jonas Brothers). Unfortunately, Larry Carroll is putting the two together as if it where somehow possible that the Bogas Brothers were good enough to contribute to New Moon's soundtrack...
And that's exactly what they want to do:

"The movie was obviously a huge success, and if they asked us to be a part of [the sequel], that would be great," Nick Jonas said when we caught up with him and his brothers Monday, revealing that the trio are fans of Stephenie Meyer's vampire franchise and would be willing to write a song for the "New Moon" soundtrack. "It would be really cool."

"That would be really cool," agreed Joe and Kevin.

I haven't seen it," Joe admitted. "But I have heard it's a great movie."

"We're looking forward to seeing it," Nick added. "We've been a little busy, so it's kinda hard to get the movies, but we'll see it."

"Typically, we'll get the advance DVDs and watch them on plane rides or something," Kevin said of the band's attempts to keep up with Hollywood's latest hits during their busy touring schedule. "So, hopefully, we'll do that."

"For a lot of guys, they want superpowers," Joe said of the appeal of Edward Cullen. "He's a vampire, but he's pretty strong and stuff."

Edward and his Cullen family are so popular, in fact, that "Twilight" recently proved its power as a franchise by distracting screaming teens long enough for the JoBros to grab a pizza.

"I think this is really funny," Kevin remembered of the first time the trio realized how huge "Twilight" was. "We were in town [the day of the 'Twilight' premiere], because we were working all day on our TV show.

"We weren't able to make it to the premiere. We were invited, but we couldn't make it," Kevin continued. "That night, we were starving coming home from work. And we wanted to get pizza."

While thousands of Twilighters screamed their heads off, unaware, the rock sensations snuck into a restaurant across the street and had a rare, peaceful meal. "The pizza place that we ordered from just happened to be across the street from the premiere," Kevin laughed. "And so, we come up driving, and didn't realize that it was the 'Twilight' premiere. It was one of those comical moments that was really funny for us."

According to Variety, Twilight is making a dash to Italy this May to shoot New Moon's epic Volterra scenes. Just looking at those old buildings makes me think "ancient evil vampires". Stephenie couldn't have chosen a more perfect location for the bad guys.

“Twilight” sequel “New Moon” has landed its first overseas sale, to Italy, where the Chris Weitz-helmed vampire romancer is partly set.
Eagle Pictures, which released “Twilight” locally, announced on Tuesday that it has reupped with Summit Entertainment for the sequel, which will shoot in the ancient Tuscan city of Volterra for two weeks in May.

MSNBC has an article in which Ashley Greene, Kellan Lutz, and Edi Gathegi have a few things to say about New Moon:

Good news for Twi-hards; judging by the tips “Twilight” stars Ashley Greene and Kellen Lutz shared with Access Hollywood about “New Moon” on Thursday night, it sounds like the second installment in the series will remain faithful to Stephenie Meyer’s book.

“I can tell you there’s a yellow Porsche,” Greene revealed at the premiere of Dakota Fanning’s “Push,” confirming that the vehicle, which plays a special role in the “New Moon” book, will be in the movie.

“I can tell you there’s werewolves,” she added coyly. “I think (the details of ‘New Moon’ script are) kind of highly under wraps.”

Greene, who plays Alice Cullen, the sister of Edward Cullen, Robert Pattinson’s character, is expected to return alongside Lutz, who plays older brother Emmett Cullen.

“We are both confirmed to be a part of it,” he said before retracting only slightly. “I’m still waiting — crossing fingers.”

Both actors said they are thrilled over the return of Taylor Lautner, who plays Jacob Black, a young man/werewolf (and the best friend of Kristen Stewart’s Bella Swan), to the franchise.

“I’m so proud of him,” Lutz said of the recent bulk-up Lautner underwent to secure his role in “New Moon.”

But one of their co-stars, Edi Gathegi, who plays Laurent, an old-school style vampire in the series, said he actually said he saw Lautner’s transformation as it happened.

“I actually worked out with him,” Gathegi revealed to Access last night. “We were working out in Australia together and working out across the country, so I saw it happening. I was there on the front lines. He was a little shrimp and he’s somewhat of a man now.”

Gathegi who will appear in “New Moon,” told Access the film would begin shooting in early spring.

“We start shooting in March in Vancouver and in Italy,” he said.

I'm so happy they get to film in Italy. That will be absolutely beautiful.
And I'm super excited to see what they do with the werewolves. Hopefully with the bigger budget they can afford some intense effects.
I'm SO excited for this thing. BOO-YAH!

Oh, and in other, slightly off-topic news, I saw Inkheart yesterday.
For those who aren't in the know, Inkheart is the first book in a trilogy written by Cornelia Funke. The books are originally written in German and had to be translated to English. If you're looking for another series of books to get into, I suggest you dive into Inkworld. They are amazing, to say the least.
As for the movie?
I loved, loved, loved it, and that's probably mostly due to the fact that Paul Bettany as Dustfinger was THE most INCREDIBLE thing EVER.
After seeing the Twilight movie, Robert Pattinson had stolen my heart as the best actor to portray a character from a book on the big screen (and before him, it was probably Viggo Mortensen's Aragorn).
But now...I think Rob has just been booted. Move over vampire, and hello fire juggler. =]
*sigh*
And now I will wait for the angry rocks to come crashing through my bedroom window. ;P
The only thing I didn't like about the Inkheart adaptation was the very end. I won't spoil it for those who may want to see the film, but let's just say I really, REALLY hope they make the sequel. :(
And now I will jump back on-topic by saying that Paul Bettany would make a seriously great vampire. I don't know which vampire, though one of the main Volturi surely, but he has a very intense look that would look even more intense once he had ruby red contacts. Yikes! 8D

Do You Want to See Something Ironic?

Peta2 gave out a bunch of awards. As you've probably guessed, Twilight recieved one, but that's not the strange part.
This is:

The thoughts running through Peta2's mind: Bahhh, so what if the main characters diet on fresh animal blood? So what if the beginning of the movie opens up with an innocent little deer being viciously hunted? So what if there are basically no animals present throughout the entire movie?
Oh, wait. I think there was a bird in one scene.
And wolves that we aren't supposed to know about until the second film.
But whatever. It's popular, it has vampires, it deserves an award and this was the only opening we had.
Heh. I mean, I'm an animal-lover and a Twilight-lover, but I wouldn't put the two things together. XD

Wait, wait I have some more irony for you. Or, at least, some very coincidental news. Robert Pattinson's newest film (Little Ashes) and Kristen Stewart's newest film (Adventureland) both open on the very same day (March 27th).
They did it on purpose because they love each other~!

I still don't hold too much of an opinion of her. She looks promising, but who knows? Maybe they'll find someone better. As of now, all we can do is wait and watch (and for some of us, post like crazy). =]

The Boy Who Could Have Been Edward...

According to His Golden Eyes, one of the mysterious boys who also tried out for the part of Edward, but didn't do the character justice according to Kristen Stewart, has been unveiled:

Known for: Losing out to Robert Pattinson for the part of Edward Cullen!

He's way good looking, there's no denying that,

He's too "pretty boy". I imagine he was probably one of the guys who strolled into the audition, whipped his shirt off, and struck a macho pose.
Thank you, whoever is in charge of casting, for chosing Rob.
I mean, face it, Rob has such a dangerous beauty to him. His features are striking, but they're also unique. Maybe I'm just biased, but when I look at Rob, I see something behind the face, a spark of intelligence and thoughtfulness in the eyes. And the whole mysterious air he's got going for him. And, and, and I could go on...
AND JUST LOOK AT THIS BROODING FACE AND TELL ME HE'S NOT A HOT VAMPIRE:

Tyler should play a werewolf. He has that happy-dog-that-could-snap-at-any-second kind of look. =]
Oh, oh! OR he could play one of the Volturi. Maybe Felix. Because he also has that grrr-look-at-me-i'll-bite-your-head-off-*wink* kind of look. XD

And LOL at people arguing over the Robert vs. Tyler issue.
It's not even an issue because, um, Robert is Edward whether people like it or not.
I think that if Tyler had been chosen to play Edward and Robert was the second runner-up, we would probably be defending Tyler and booing Robert.
Maybe...*shifty eyes*
But basically what I'm saying is that we've associated Robert's face with the name Edward Cullen for so long, we've seen him in the movie, and now most of us just can't picture anyone else as Edward.
I can't.
I love Robert and I'm glad he was chosen as Edward. If Tyler had pale makeup on, golden contacts in, and his hair died bronze and we put his picture next to one of Robert in character, I THINK (I don't know for sure, but I think) that I would have looked at Robert and gone "Well, he looks more like a vampire and while both of these guys are beautiful, Rob's features are something you don't see in Hollywood every day."
The guy has something special about him that no one can seem to describe.
And Edward's character is not all about the "OMG he's HAWT!" Seriously, he's not even supposed to be "hot". "Hot" is the term you use for boys like Tyler, boys who are damn good looking, but not necessarily unique. For an angry superhuman vampire who has been around for a hundred years, the word "beautiful" comes to mind. Beautiful and haunting and frightening and mysterious all at the same time. When you put Rob in makeup, that's what he looks like. And though Edward is supposed to be very good looking, he's also scary. He's one of those people you glance at, shudder, and look away. He's not one of those guys you look at and start batting your eyelashes.
Anyway.
Um.
Yay Rob?
And yay Tyler for trying?

It has been confirmed that Dakota Fanning is being looked as a potential member of the Volturi. Light hair, big eyes, pale...I think she could play Jane. Dakota gets her own word in on New Moon here:

She's a sweetie, that's for sure. I haven't seen her in many movies, so I can't judge for myself too well, but I know for sure that she will have to carry out some killer acting skillz if she's going to pull off evil, creepy little Jane. As for the looks department, she's there. Stick some red contacts on her eyeballs and she's a vamp.

Oh, and it was very hard to keep my eyes off Chris Evans sitting next to her. Man, oh man. Hot stuff right there. ;] FlAME ON!

The Hollywood Reporter interviewed Rob Friedman and Patrick Wachsberger about Twilight:

The Hollywood Reporter: How has "Twilight" changed the company?

Rob Friedman: Well, people are smiling a lot more than they were before.
Patrick Wachsberger: There definitely is a change. First, it's fantastic for all our troops. Second, it's fantastic financially. Third, I honestly believe that we made no mistakes; I don't believe that any studio could've done a better job. But I do not feel there has been any envy or jealousy -- everybody has been looking at it as a piece of good news in a really dark time. Yes, there's hope. There's hope in the banking community, there's hope for independent producers and other studios that it can happen to them on a low-budget movie with no stars. Things have also changed from the point of the view of the agencies as well. It's like, "Wow, look at this little movie coming out of nowhere, handled by this new studio. They really proved that they can basically do (major studios) good or better."

THR: Despite the success, you're going in a bit of a different creative direction with Chris Weitz directing "New Moon," the sequel.

Patrick Wachsberger: If you look at "Harry Potter" -- or other movies sort of like "Harry Potter," I shouldn't compare -- but they change director every movie. The second book is slightly different. (There are) new characters and more visual effects. Catherine (Hardwicke) did a fantastic job (on "Twilight"), and there is a naturalistic feel to the movie that she created and we're going to keep. The first movie was very good, and we hope the second movie (will) be even better.

THR: What happened with Catherine?

Friedman: Basically, we had a different vision of what the movie should be, and we decided that the best course of action was to part (ways as) friends. She has done a fantastic job with "Twilight" and continues to promote it. She's still working with us on the movie -- the DVD, she's doing her director's cut. We just agreed that we had a different vision.

THR: Will "New Moon" stay in the same $38 million budget range?

Friedman: No. The next one will be higher than that. We believe that the film will naturally be more expensive. Sequels become more expensive, and we have more special effects.

Wachsberger: And locations. In the second movie there is a sequence in Italy.

THR: There is talk that because Edward is out of the picture for much of "New Moon," there will be elements of the second and third books combined into the second movie.

Wachsberger: No, but Edward is present for the movie.

I hope that by "No, but Edward is present for the movie", they mean, "No, but Edward is present for a few minutes in the beginning and then in the grand finale at the end of the movie."
And I very much like how they mentioned the "naturalistic feel" to the Twilight film and that they said they will keep it. Part of what I loved about Twilight was that it looked so real with the camera styles and the scenery that Catherine chose.
